THE ROOTS ARK #5 (04-12-2020)

No more Franky D bashing! A careful selection of grooves to make you move. Strictly vinyl, boomer stylee!

Toen MixMaster Wannes voorstelde om een show over de Indische politieke activist Mahatma Ghandi te maken, hadden MCs Trage Tony en Neute helaas iets anders verstaan. To kick off 2022 we did a 2 hour tribute to some of legends who left us in 2020 & 2021. 2 hours is way too short so we scheduled only a few tunes per artist. Also there are a few who didn't get played such as Bob Andy, Apple Gabriel, Purpleman, Rudolph "Garth" Dennis, Ernest Wilson, Bunny Wailer & Robbie Shakespeare (who'll get a separate tribute). In order of appearance: Lee Scratch Perry, Toots Hibbert, Derrick Lara, U-Roy, Trinity aka Junior Brammer, Delroy Washington, Mickey Chung, Albert Griffith, Norris Reid, Naggo Morris, Bunny "Striker" Lee, Pad Anthony & Bobby "Digital" Dixon. Sad years where a lot of the legends have left us, but their music will always be remembered & played out loud! With all the respect, Rest in Peace to all

86th broadcast of the Reggae Excursion Radioshow. Hosted by Selector DT and Gus the Socialist Rocker. This show features a one-hour tribute to the late great bass legend Robbie Shakespeare, who passed away late 2021. Enjoy!
